“Magi From the East…”

Blessings folk!

The birth of Jesus was not the beginning of salvation.
The beginning lies in the mystery of the Godhead before anything was spoken into existence.

We see the first major hint in the written Word in Genesis 3.

Gen 3:14-15

The LORD God said to the serpent,
“Because you have done this,
Cursed are you more than all cattle,
And more than every beast of the field;
On your belly you will go,
And dust you will eat
All the days of your life;
And I will put enmity
Between you and the woman,
And between your seed and her seed;
He shall bruise you on the head,
And you shall bruise him on the heel.”

The actual physical birth of Jesus was simply part of the process of His parousia - His coming, His Presence.

The birth narrative continues after the actual birth.

Read this familiar story.
Ask the Lord to reveal His Truth to you…

Mat 2:1
Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem, saying,
“Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him.”
When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.

Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea.
We have a clear idea of the timing…in the days of Herod the King.
So, Herod was still alive.
It is believed that Herod died around 4 B.C.
Therefore, because of what we know in the balance of this story, Jesus was born somewhere around 6-4 B.C.

During Herod’s reign, magi from the east arrived to Jerusalem.
Not Bethlehem.
Jerusalem.

They went about asking “where is He who has been born King of the Jews?…”
They had seen “His star”.
They had come to worship Him.

They knew that this One Who had been born was worthy of worship, worthy of praise.
They followed a star, which apparently was now not seen.

Herod heard of the dignitaries inquiry?
He was not happy.
He was troubled.
All of Jerusalem was troubled.

If the King is troubled, all are troubled.

How did these magi know?
What did they know?
