“Your Kingdom Will Not Endure…”

Blessings folk!

A little more of the side-bar…

The people coming to David were tired.

Tired of servicing a king and royal structure that the Lord had rejected.

1Sa 13:13-14
“You have done a foolish thing,” Samuel said. “You have not kept the command the LORD your God gave you; if you had, he would have established your kingdom over Israel for all time.

But now your kingdom will not endure; the LORD has sought out a man after his own heart and appointed him ruler of his people, because you have not kept the LORD’s command.”

David was that man.

These men wanted more.
They were rejecting…

  • Debt
  • Discontentment
  • Distress

They were turning to/receiving hope.

1Sa 22:1-2
So David departed from there and escaped to the cave of Adullam; and when his brothers and all his father’s household heard of it, they went down there to him.

Everyone who was in distress, and everyone who was in debt, and everyone who was discontented gathered to him; and he became captain over them.
Now there were about four hundred men with him.

David was/is a picture of Messiah to come.

We no longer put our hope in a man that represents the One to come.
We place our hope in the One that has come and will return - Jesus Christ the Messiah.

Is the Lord stirring your spirit?
Is He revealing things to you?
Are you paying attention?

The kingdoms of man will not endure.
They are collapsing before our eyes - political and religious.

The Kingdom of God endures forever.
It is growing before our eyes.

There are things here for us to glean.
May we have eyes to see.
May we have ears to hear.
May we have the mind of the Lord.
May we do as He commands and instructs.
