Jesus acknowledges that the Law told “the ancients” ‘do not murder.’

We see a pattern of how Jesus was presenting some truths…
“You have heard...but I say”.
He was not negating the Law. He was fulfilling.
He was building on the Law.

Jesus equates murder with anger.
Even the mouthing of words will cause one to be guilty unto fiery hell.

Jesus tells us to seek forgiveness, seek reconciliation.

Make friends with your opponent at law.
The point is to “not win”, but to walk in humility and deference to one another.
Allow God room for vengeance.

We are told to forgive so that Father in heaven will forgive us.
Do not think that you can hold something against someone while receiving God’s forgiveness.

Forgive.
