"Righteousness/Mercy/Forgiveness vs. Confusion of face/sin/rebellion"

Righteousness/Mercy/Forgiveness
vs.
Confusion of face/sin/rebellion

Blessings Folk!

Daniel was confessing and acknowledging the truth before the Lord.

Today the truth remains.

We have sinned.
We have committed iniquity.
We have done wickedly.
We have rebelled.
We have departed from the precepts and judgments of God.
We have not listened to the Word of the Lord through His servants the prophets.

Daniel continues praying and declares a profound juxtaposition…

Lord=Righteousness/Us=confusion of face (open shame)

Lord=Compassion/Us=rebellion

Daniel 9

7 O LORD, righteousness belongeth unto thee, but unto us confusion of faces, as at this day; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and unto all Israel, that are near, and that are far off, through all the countries whither thou hast driven them, because of their trespass that they have trespassed against thee.

 8 O Lord, to us belongeth confusion of face, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against thee.

9 To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgivenesses, though we have rebelled against him;

10 Neither have we obeyed the voice of the LORD our God, to walk in his laws, which he set before us by his servants the prophets.

We do likewise.

We are living in open shame/confusion of face.
We have sinned.
Our leaders.
Our fathers.
All.
We have rebelled.
We have not obeyed the voice of the Lord
We have not walked in His laws, His teachings, His precepts.

May we repent of such...now...this moment.

Remembering that the Lord is..

  • Righteous
  • Merciful
  • Forgiving

Do not forget the bigger picture.
Daniel was praying for the people of the Lord.
May we do so.

Blessings!
