“Follow Me”

Blessings folk!

Jesus preached the Kingdom of heaven/God…repent…believe.

Mar 1:16-18

As He was going along by the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and Andrew, the brother of Simon, casting a net in the sea; for they were fishermen.

And Jesus said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you become fishers of men.”

Immediately they left their nets and followed Him.

Some interesting details that we often take for granted.

“As He was going…”
We will see more in other gospels, but we see that things occurred “as Jesus was going…”.
Too often we miss the “as we are going” moments in our lives.
We want big events.
We want specific moments.
The life of the Kingdom occurs “as we are going”.

Jesus sees brothers Simon and Andrew working at their vocation, fishing.
Jesus calls them to follow Him.
A calling with a promise…”you will become fishers of men”.

They heard.
They immediately left their vocation/nets.
They followed Him.

Looks like a “cold call”…not quite…but we do see…

Hearing.
Obedience.
Belief in a promise.
Sacrifice.
Following.

May we continue to do likewise…
