“Proceeding and Pitching…”

“Proceeding and Pitching…”

Blessings folk!

Abram had arrive upon the land that the Lord had promised as an inheritance.
Yet…
Abram never “settled” in the traditional sense.
He moved about.
He explored the land.
He never built a city.
He never built a house…as far as we know.

Gen 12:8
Then he proceeded from there to the mountain on the east of Bethel, and pitched his tent, with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east; and there he built an altar to the LORD and called upon the name of the LORD.

Abram journeyed on, continuing toward the Negev.

Now there was a famine in the land; so Abram went down to Egypt to sojourn there, for the famine was severe in the land.

Too often we think that “real life” requires a “settling”.
Abram models something different.
He pitched his tent.
He was ready to stay.
He was ready to move.
He was obedient.
He went as the Lord led.
Even it is requires “going to Egypt”.
So should we…be ready.
