"Take Now..."

“Take Now…”

Blessings folk!

God called. “Abraham”
Abraham answered. “Here I Am”

The Lord then instructed.

Gen 22:2
He said, “Take now your son, your only son, whom you love, Isaac, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I will tell you.”

God said much here.
Take your son…your only son.
Again, Isaac was the son of the Promise.
Ishmael, the son of the flesh, was gone.
Isaac was to be considered the only son.

God acknowledged the love Abraham had for Isaac.
God knew what was being asked.
God knew the greater purpose.
God let Abraham know that He knew.

God gave specific instructions.
Go to the land Moriah
Offer Isaac as a burnt offering on a mountain.
A mountain which will be revealed when you arrive.

What did Abraham do?
We will see more detail tomorrow.
For today, he obeyed.
“So…”.
That simple word carries so much.
“Because it was spoken…” “Because the Lord said…”

Gen 22:3
So Abraham rose early in the morning and saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him and Isaac his son; and he split wood for the burnt offering, and arose and went to the place of which God had told him.

Abraham arose early the next day.
He prepared…saddled a donkey, took two young men with he and Isaac.
Split the wood.
Arose.
Went.

By faith!
