Heb 11:1-2
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
For by it the men of old gained approval.
Faith is…
assurance…of things hoped for
conviction…of things not seen
By faith, men of old…the great cloud of witnesses…gained approval.
Not by action.
Not by deed.
By faith
RT Kendall tells a personal story of a time when he inquired of Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones as to the nature of faith. What is a definition of faith?
Lloyd-Jones did not immediately answer.
The next day, Lloyd-Jones phoned RT and stated “believing God”.
That is faith.
Believing God.
Our assurance is in God.
Our conviction is in God.
Faith in anything else is not faith.
It is idolatry.
Determine to walk in true faith.
Learn of true faith.
