“I Have Heard. Chosen.”

Blessings folk!

The people had completed the building of the Temple.
The people had completed the days of dedication of the Temple.
The Lord had accepted their offerings and sacrifices.

All was complete.

2 Chron 7:11

Thus Solomon finished the house of the LORD and the king’s palace, and successfully completed all that he had planned on doing in the house of the LORD and in his palace.

Success!

Nothing like completing a good plan!

The palace was complete.
The Temple was complete.

But, wait.
There is more.

2 Chron 7:12

Then the LORD appeared to Solomon at night and said to him,
“I have heard your prayer and have chosen this place for Myself as a house of sacrifice.

The Lord appeared to Solomon at night…hummmm….

The Lord heard Solomon’s prayer!

The Lord chose “this place for Myself”…the Temple…as a house of sacrifice.

Note, not a place of “residence”.
No place can “hold” God.
But sacrifice.

Such are we as true Believers.

The Lord tells us to…

Rom 12:1

Therefore I urge you, brethren,
by the mercies of God,
to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice,
acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.

We are to present ourselves/body as a living and holy sacrifice.
We are the temple of the Lord!

2 Co 6:16
Or what agreement has the temple of God with idols?
For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said,
“I WILL DWELL IN THEM AND WALK AMONG THEM;
AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD, AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE.

The Lord now chooses to dwell within His people.

Think on that.
Rejoice in that.
Live accordingly.
