“I Will Do This Before All Israel”
Blessings folk!
The Lord continues to speak to David through Nathan the prophet.
The Lord has recounted what He had done for David.
The Lord was not finished.
Now He tells David what was to occur due to this act of evil…this act of despising the Lord.
2Sa 12:10-12
‘Now therefore, the sword shall never depart from your house,
because you have despised Me and have taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your wife.’
“Thus says the LORD,
‘Behold, I will raise up evil against you from your own household;
I will even take your wives before your eyes and give them to your companion,
and he will lie with your wives in broad daylight.
‘Indeed you did it secretly, but I will do this thing before all Israel, and under the sun.’”
The sword would never depart from David’s house - due to his despising of the Lord by taking the wife of Uriah and the life of Uriah.
The Lord would raise up evil against David.
This would come from the household of David.
The Lord would take his wives before his eyes and give them to David’s “companion”.
He will lie with David’s wives.
We will see this later.
David did what he did in secret.
God will do what He will do before all of Israel.
All under the sun will know.
David had repented.
The Lord forgave him.
But, there is fruit that comes from the acts we do…
