“Fallow Ground”

Blessings folk!

Let’s look at the last of the Proverbs in chapter 13…

Pro 13:23-25

Abundant food is in the fallow ground of the poor,
But it is swept away by injustice.

He who withholds his rod hates his son,
But he who loves him disciplines him diligently.

The righteous has enough to satisfy his appetite,
But the stomach of the wicked is in need.

We see that abundant food is in the fallow ground of the poor.
Fallow ground is ground that has not been prepared for food production.
It must be cultivated and prepared to receive seed.
There is great potential there to feed the poor, but it is swept away by injustice.

Some things never change.

The Righteous has enough to satisfy his appetite…for food, for purpose, etc.
The “wanter” of the Righteous is in correct relationship with the Most High God.

The Wicked?
They are always “hungry”.
They always want “more”.
They are never satisfied.

It is a heart issue.

Lastly, if we love our children we will discipline them….diligently.
If you withhold discipline you hate your child.
This speaks of all forms of discipline.
Children are “fallow ground”.
Tremendous potential for abundant fruit.

The Lord does the same for us…

Deu 8:5
“Thus you are to know in your heart that the LORD your God was disciplining you just as a man disciplines his son.

 Heb 12:6
FOR THOSE WHOM THE LORD LOVES HE DISCIPLINES,
AND HE SCOURGES EVERY SON WHOM HE RECEIVES.”
