“Look Lord, Two Swords!”

Today’s reading:

Luke 22:35-38

Jesus taught His disciples.
Once He sent them out without money belt, bag or sandal.
They lacked nothing.
He was teaching them that the Lord would provide.
He did.

In this passage, Jesus reminds them of this time.
Then, He tells them that now they are free to take the resources they have.
Money and weapons are mentioned as examples.

Jesus even goes to the “extreme” of telling them to liquidate resources to procure a weapon.

Jesus was telling them that prophecy must be fulfilled.
He would be numbered with transgressors...He would be falsely accused, He would be killed.

They told the Lord that they had two swords.
Why this statement?
Why was this enough?

I suspect it has to do with Peter’s attempt in protecting the Lord with a sword…
We will see later…

Do you use the resourced He has provide for the Kingdom?
