“Inexpressible”

Blessings folk!

Are you overflowing in thanksgivings to God?
Are you overflowing in anticipation of the many ways that He wants you to “give”?
Are you overflowing in His Truth?
Are you being set free unto liberty, especially related to “giving”?
The Word will do this.
Give heed to the Word of God.
Adhere to the traditions of God.
Reject the traditions of man.

The Spirit leads Paul to describe what will happen when their gift is received…

2 Co 9:13-15

By their approval of this service,
they will glorify God because of your submission that comes from your confession of the gospel of Christ, and the generosity of your contribution for them and for all others,

while they long for you and pray for you, because of the surpassing grace of God upon you.

Thanks be to God for his inexpressible gift!

Do you see what is happening?

The people receiving the offering, the poor, beleaguered believers in Jerusalem, will glorify God!

Why?

Because of the gift.
Yes.
But, wait!
There is more!

Because of the gift that came due to a changed heart from the Corinthians confession of the gospel of Christ.
They heard the gospel.
They believed.
Their belief resulted in an action…generosity of contribution to others.

Then note.
Those who they had never met would long for them.
They would pray for them.

Why?
Because of the grace of God.
The grace of God upon them.
The grace of God that is unsurpassed.

Paul literally shouts through the pages…”THANKS BE TO GOD FOR HIS INEXPRESSIBLE GIFT!”

Not the gift of provision.
This is good, but it is only the fruit of the true gift.

The Gift of God’s grace poured out in salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ.

As we saw at the beginning, it is through giving ourselves to His grace that we give properly.
