John 13:20
“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who receives whomever I send receives Me;
and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me.”

Jesus is strengthening the final groundwork for sending the disciples out.
He is encouraging them in a way they know not at the moment.
They will understand later.

He who receives the one that Jesus sends, receives Jesus.
The idea is that they were the emissaries of the Lord Jesus.
So are we.
He who receives the truth we live and proclaim, receives Jesus.

The one who receives Jesus, receives the One Who sent Jesus - Father.

The disciples seated with Jesus needed to know this.
They would remember and receive encouragement and exhortation from this Word.

We do likewise.

We are sent.
Those that receive, receive Him.

The unstated corollary is true.
Those that reject, reject Him.

Trust in the Lord.
Rest in His truth.
