“It Is Lawful to Do Good”

Blessings Folk!

Today’s reading:
Matthew 12:9-14
Mark 3:1-6
Luke 6:6-11

One would not think that consideration would have to be given to whether it is “lawful to do good”, but such is the case when dealing with the religionist.

The religious rulers in the reading sought to have grounds to accuse Jesus. They used the Sabbath as their instrument.

Jesus, as always, would have nothing to do with it.
He gave an example of how they would rescue and animal on the Sabbath.
Should not a person, who is more valuable than animal, be rescued?

Jesus confronts them with their attempt at tripping Him up.
Did you see where Jesus was angry?
He was grieved at the hardness of their heart.
He commanded the man to stretch out his hand (think on that one) and the hand was healed.

Oh how the religionists hates the love and mercy of God.
They were filled with mindless rage...how often I have seen that.
They were trying to decide what to do with Jesus.
They decided to begin planning with the Herodians how they might kill Jesus.

Religious rulers.
Mindless rage.
Kill.
Nothing changes.
