“Pass By Them”

Blessings folk!

Jesus sent the disciples onward via the water route.
Jesus sent the crowd home.
Jesus went to the mountain to pray.

Now, a very familiar story.
Let us take it a bite at a time.

Read and note the details…

Mar 6:47-48

When it was evening, the boat was in the middle of the sea, and He was alone on the land.

Seeing them straining at the oars, for the wind was against them,
at about the fourth watch of the night He came to them, walking on the sea;
and He intended to pass by them.

It was evening.
The boat was in the middle of the sea.
The disciples were having a difficult time because the wind was against them.
They should have been further along.

Jesus could see them from the mountain.
They were straining.

So, what did Jesus do?
What was Jesus’ plan as to how to reunite with them?

He would walk to them.
On the water.

He came to them…late in the night…the fourth watch.
He was walking on the water.
He intended to pass by them.

Why?

Why not stop and help?
Why not calm the sea…as He had done before?

As in all things, Jesus only did what Father told Him to do…John 17.

Why pass them by…?
