“Compassion. Touch.”

“Compassion. Touch.”

Blessings folk!

Jesus was moved with compassion.

The crowds usually are not.

Crowds are confrontational.
Crowds are sources of confusion.
Crowds usually care not about the individual.

Read…

Mat 20:29-34

As they were leaving Jericho, a large crowd followed Him.

And two blind men sitting by the road, hearing that Jesus was passing by, cried out, “Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!”

The crowd sternly told them to be quiet, but they cried out all the more,
“Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!”

And Jesus stopped and called them, and said, “What do you want Me to do for you?”

They said to Him, “Lord, we want our eyes to be opened.”

Moved with compassion, Jesus touched their eyes;
and immediately they regained their sight and followed Him.

A large crowd was following Jesus.

As they went, they passed two blind men sitting by the road.
The blind men cried out “Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David”!
A cry of faith!

What was the response of the crowd to this cry of faith?
“Shut up!”

Sadly the same still occurs today.

The Crowd often seeks to suppress the one crying out to the Lord.
The Crowd is embarrassed.
The Crowd wants “everything to be done in order”.
The Crowd wants process, procedure, etc.

The blind men were having nothing to do with it.
They cried out all the more…don’t you love that phrase?!

Jesus stopped.
Then He asked one of the most profound questions in all the Word - “What do you want Me to do for you?”

Think on that.
Do we realize that the Lord might be asking us the same?

To finish the story, the men stated they wanted to see.

The Lord had compassion.
The Lord touched their eyes…physically.
They regain their sight.
They followed Him.

That is pattern of the Kingdom.
Believe! They cried out and called Him Lord.
Ask! Open our eyes!
Receive! What the Lord has for you!
Follow Him!

Why do we “spin our wheels” in fraudulent forms of religion?
Simply learn how the Lord did it…then do.

What do you want the Lord to do for you?
