“Fire & Glory”

Blessings folk!

Solomon finished praying.

Wonder if/how the Lord responded?
Wonder not.
We are told…in vivid detail. Happy

2 Ch 7:1-3

As soon as Solomon finished his prayer,
fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices,
and the glory of the LORD filled the temple.

And the priests could not enter the house of the LORD,
because the glory of the LORD filled the LORD’s house.

When all the people of Israel saw the fire come down and the glory of the LORD on the temple, they bowed down with their faces to the ground on the pavement and worshiped and gave thanks to the LORD, saying, “For he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever.”

Two things happened.
- Fire came down from heaven and consumed the offering and sacrifices
- The Glory of the Lord filled/on the Temple.

Can you imagine?

How did the people respond?
- They bowed with their faces to the ground…on the pavement.
- They worshipped.
- They gave thanks to the Lord
- They declared “He is good for His steadfast love endures forever”!

The priests literally could not enter the house of the Lord due to the glory of the Lord.

Wonder what that means?
Could they not see?
Is there such a “weight” to the glory of the Lord? I suspect so.

The Lord received the offerings/sacrifice.
The Lord received the prayer.
The Lord was pleased.
