“Summer and Winter”

Blessings folk!!

Transition.
Change.
Upheaval.

Such is the way of the world.

We even see it in the seasons.

Today is the first day of summer…in the northern region.
At 4:44 pm CDT summer begins.

Did you know that it might have not always been that way?

Check this out…

Gen 8:20-22

Then Noah built an altar to the LORD,
and took of every clean animal and of every clean bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar.

The LORD smelled the soothing aroma; and the LORD said to Himself,
“I will never again curse the ground on account of man, for the intent of man’s heart is evil from his youth; and I will never again destroy every living thing, as I have done.

“While the earth remains,
Seedtime and harvest,
And cold and heat,
And summer and winter,
And day and night
Shall not cease.”

This is after the Flood.

Noah builds an altar unto the Lord.
He worships.

The Lord spoke…to Himself.
He declares He will never curse the ground again on account of man.
He declares the truth of the evil intent of man’s heart.
He declares He will never again destroy every living thing.
He then gives us insight into how the earth works…
- Seedtime/harvest
- Cold/heart
- Summer/winter
- Day/night
…all shall not cease.

Were there no seasons before the Flood?
Likely.

We know there had been no rain in the manner of the hydrological cycle that we experience.

Hummmm….
