“Heir”

Blessings folk!

Remember, we are examining what the Lord reveals about faith from Hebrews 11.

We have seen that…

Heb 11:1
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

By faith…

  • men of old gained approval
  • we understand that the worlds were prepared by the Word of God
  • Abel offered to God a better sacrifice than cain
  • Enoch was take up so that he would not see death
  • Noah became an heir of righteousness

A final world on Noah.

Heb 11:7
By faith Noah, being warned by God about things not yet seen, in reverence prepared an ark for the salvation of his household, by which he condemned the world, and became an heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.

Noah was warned of God about things not yet seen.
He was warned about a Flood yet to come.
I believe that there had never been any rain, much less a flood.
Yet, Noah believed.
Yet, Noah acted.

Noah prepared an ark “in reverence”.
In circumspect awe.
He spent years…decades…preparing the vessel that would provide salvation for his household.

In this preparation, he condemned the world.
He spoke to the world about their sin.
They believed not.

In his belief…
In his reverence…
In his preparation…
He became an heir of righteousness…a righteousness according to faith.

A picture of the salvation we have.
