"Mercy, Peace, Love"

“Mercy, Peace, Love”

Blessings folk!

Jude introduced himself…
  • servant of Jesus Christ
  • brother of James

Jude specified to whom he was writing
  • those who are called
  • those who are beloved in God the Father
  • those kept for Jesus Christ

Jude 1
1 Jude, a bond-servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James,
To those who are the called, beloved in God the Father, and kept for Jesus Christ:

We saw yesterday that Jude wanted to write about their common salvation, but he found it necessary...hummm...necessary...to write to appeal to them to contend for the faith.

But, he said something else before this…

Jude 2
2 May mercy and peace and love be multiplied to you.

Jude spoke blessings over them.
He spoke the declaration that mercy, peace and love be multiplied in them.

This is so needed today.

When was the last time that you as a Believer spoke such over someone?
We need to declare the mercy, peace and love of the Lord over each other.
We need to seek that such be multiplied.

This is missing from the Body.

Most of what I see on a regular basis consists of…

  • suspicion
  • nosiness
  • busy-bodiness
  • doubt
  • fear
  • lying
  • deception
  • idolatry
  • strife

Yep, the works of the flesh…

Galatians 5:19-22
19 Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions,21 envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Such is endemic in the “culture” of many portions of the Body of Christ.

Most of the time folk do not know how they are acting/reacting/living.
It is considered “normal”.

It is not.

Those who practice such as a pattern of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
They are religious.
They are not saved.

How different would things be if we spoke mercy, peace and love over one another?
How different if we sought to multiply these things in our lives?

The Love of the Spirit would break forth.
The lies and deception of the evil one would flee.

Galatians 5:22-26
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
24 And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.
26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

To the praise and glory of the Lord.

May it be...multiplied.
