“Boastful, Arrogant”

Blessings folk!

The last days will be difficult.
Man will be the pawn of the man-of-lawlessness.
We continue with some of the characteristics...

2 Timothy 2:1-5
1 But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come.
2 For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money,
boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy,
3 unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good,
4 treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
5 holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power;
Avoid such men as these.

People will be…

Boastfulalazōn (Greek)

  • boaster
  • empty pretender

I like that definition - empty pretender.
We see it in leadership.
We see it in the media (great example happening now with Brian Williams).
We see it within ourselves.

The Lord calls us to put to death the flesh.
Boasting resurrects the flesh.

Arroganthyperēphanos
  • showing one's self above others
  • with an overweening estimate of one's means or merits
  • despising others or even treating them with contempt
  • haughty
Such are the men/people of the last days.
We see it now.
It will increase.

Be not like them.
Rather, avoid them.
