“First. Last. Last. First.”

“First. Last. Last. First.”

Blessings folk!

Peter voiced it.
The disciples were constantly concerned about themselves.

We do the same.

Jesus spoke to them…

Mar 10:28-31

Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee.

And Jesus answered and said,
Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's,

But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.

But many that are first shall be last; and the last first.

Two important “buts”.

“But” 1…

Jesus lets them know the there is no one who has sacrificed for His sake and the Gospel’s who will not receive a hundred fold in return “in this time”.

Note what we receive “in this time.”
Houses.
Brethren.
Sisters.
Mothers.
Children.
Land.
(The Household of Faith&hellipWinking
…with persecution.

What?

Yes.
We will gain all these for the Kingdom…with persecution.

And in the world to come?
Eternal life!

“But” 2…
Many that are first shall be last and the last first.

Basically, Jesus was telling the disciples…and us…to quit being so concerned with ourselves.
Quit think’n “that’s not fair”.

God’s grace and mercy do not equate with man’s “equality and fairness”.

Trust God.
