“Did Not/Would Not Listen”

Blessings folk!

The people continued to confess unto the Lord the sins of their forefathers.

Remember, they were in the process of confessing their own sins.
They were simply acknowledging how they, as a people, had continually rebelled against the Lord.
They were also acknowledging how the Lord had repeatedly delivered and forgiven them.

Neh 9:29b

Yet they acted arrogantly and did not listen to Your commandments
but sinned against Your ordinances,
By which if a man observes them he shall live.
And they turned a stubborn shoulder and stiffened their neck, and would not listen.

They had acted arrogantly.
They had not listened to the commandments of the Lord.
They had sinned against the Lord’s ordinances.
They had turned a stubborn shoulder against the the Lord.
They had stiffened their neck against the Lord.
They would not listen to the Lord.

Nothing had changed.
Nothing has changed.
Too many adhere to a form of godliness, yet they deny the power of true godliness.

The harsh reality is this.
Most “church-goers” are religionists who are not truly saved.
They are attempting to live a life that they are not empowered to live because they have not been truly transformed.

They have not done what the Lord has called us to do..repent, confess, etc. … unto salvation.

The commandments/ordinances of the Lord bring life to a man that observes them.

They had not observed the Word of the Lord.
Too many today do not observe.

Let us not be numbered among the stiff-necked and stubborn religionists.
Let us manifest the Life of the Most High.

Listen to the Lord.
Do as He says.
