“Agree…”

Today’s reading:

Matthew 5:25-26
Luke 12:57-59

This truth goes against what the world usually does.

Reach agreement quickly with your accuser while headed toward court.

This does not speak of admitting to something that you have not done.

It does speak to not participating in a false defense.

I think there is also a bigger picture.

The Accuser of the Brethren - Satan - continually roams to and fro seeking who he may devour.
He will often bring accusation against us...reminding us our past, tempting us to return to past practices, telling us what we us to be.

When he does such, agree with him…
Yes, I was...but, now through the Blood of Jesus I am not.
Yes, I did...but now through the mercy of Christ I am not.
Yes, I...but now through the grace of the Lord I am a new creation, a new creature.
