“Overturning…”

Blessings folk!

Often people paint Jesus as some wimpy, soft, shy, bashful man.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

Read…

Mar 11:15-16

Then they came to Jerusalem. And He entered the temple and began to drive out those who were buying and selling in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who were selling doves;

and He would not permit anyone to carry merchandise through the temple.

Jesus returns to Jerusalem.
He sees what is happening in the temple.
What was it?
People were buying/selling…exchanging for sacrifices required of the Law.
Was it a “convenience”?
Sure.
But Jesus knew the heart of the people.

He went in and drove out the money changers.
He overturned the tables.
He flipped over the seats.

He was angry.
Yet without sin.

Jesus refused to permit anyone to carry merchandise through the temple.

Did Jesus have “authority” to do this?

Authority from God? Yes.
Authority from position of man or the Law? No.

He refused for the ways of man to hijack the Temple of the Lord.

He does the same today.

Do not be surprised if the Lord should overturn some tables and chairs in your life…
