“Blaspheming Defilers”
Blessings folk!
Jude does not hold back in describing the men that had “crept in unnoticed.”
Look at the next verse...three translations that each give nuanced insight…
Look at what they do…
Jude describes these men in terms of Sodom and Gomorrah.
We see it everywhere in the world.
We also see it in the church.
Watch.
You will see “church leaders” that adhere/pursuit such lifestyles.
As we have seen, the Lord will judge.

8 Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.
KJV
Jude 8
8 Yet in like manner these people also, relying on their dreams, defile the flesh, reject authority, and blaspheme the glorious ones.
ESV
Jude 8
8 Yet in the same way these men, also by dreaming, defile the flesh, and reject authority, and revile angelic majesties.
NASB
“Yet in like manner…”
“Likewise…”
Like what?
In the same manner as Sodom and Gomorrah...as they went after strange flesh.
Jude describes them as…
- filthy dreamers
- relying on their dreams
Look at what they do…
- rely on their dreams
- defile flesh
- despise dominion...they reject God
- speak evil of dignities/angelic majesties/glorious ones. They blaspheme them.
