“Seek Your Servant"

Blessings folk!

We have arrived!
The last stanza of Psalm 119.
Have you not be amazed by the truths about the Word?

Read the passage…

Psa 119:169-176

Tav.
Let my cry come before You, O LORD;
Give me understanding according to Your word.

Let my supplication come before You;
Deliver me according to Your word.

Let my lips utter praise,
For You teach me Your statutes.

Let my tongue sing of Your word,
For all Your commandments are righteousness.

Let Your hand be ready to help me,
For I have chosen Your precepts.

I long for Your salvation, O LORD,
And Your law is my delight.

Let my soul live that it may praise You,
And let Your ordinances help me.

I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek Your servant,
For I do not forget Your commandments.

Note three points.

  1. The Psalmist petitioned the Lord “according to Your Word”.
Do we do this?
Do we even know the Word enough to petition according to His Word?

(2) The way the Word is described…we have seen this throughout the Psalm.
Statutes
Commandments
Precepts
Law
Ordinances
Commandments

(3) The Psalmist acknowledges that he has gone astray like a lost sheep, yet he has not forgot the Lord’s commandments.
He asks the Lord to seek him.

Interesting.

When we go astray do we ask the Lord to seek us?
Do we repent?
Do we call upon Him to see?
Perhaps we should.
