“My Hook, My Bridle”

Blessings folk!

One of the great truths that we have seen of late is that God has a plan.
He has planned since before the foundation of the earth.

There are many interesting and magnificent corollaries that arise from this truth.

For now, rest in it.
Live in it.
God has a plan.

The Lord had told the King of Assyria that his great conquests were not due to his own personal magnificence.
They were God’s plan.
A plan from ancient times.

The Lord continues to inform the Assyrian king…

2Ki 19:25-28

‘Have you not heard?
Long ago I did it;
From ancient times I planned it.
Now I have brought it to pass,
That you should turn fortified cities into ruinous heaps.

‘Therefore their inhabitants were short of strength,
They were dismayed and put to shame;
They were as the vegetation of the field and as the green herb,
As grass on the housetops is scorched before it is grown up.

‘But I know your sitting down,
And your going out and your coming in,
And your raging against Me.

‘Because of your raging against Me,
And because your arrogance has come up to My ears,
Therefore I will put My hook in your nose,
And My bridle in your lips,
And I will turn you back by the way which you came.

The Lord was the reason for the victories of Assyria
It was the Lord who caused the vanquished to be…
short of strength
dismayed
put to shame

But, the Lord knows the King’s every move…his sitting down, going out, coming in…his raging against the Lord!

Because of this raging…
Because the king’s arrogance had come to the Lord’s ear…via Hezekiah…(yes, the Lord already knew! Happy )…
Because of these, the Lord had determined to put His hook in the nose of the king and His bridle in the king’s lips.
The Lord would turn the king back by the way he came.

Wait until you see how…

The Lord heard the prayer of Hezekiah.
Yes, the Lord had planned long ago for the Assyrians to do this.
Yet, there is more to the plan.

Did you know that a day is coming when Egypt, Assyria and Israel will all worship the Lord together?
