“Hearty Work…”

Blessings folk!

Here is a truth that is rarely considered in the Body of Christ.

It pertains to slaves...servants...employees.

We have seen how wives, husbands, children, fathers are to relate.
We saw some yesterday about slaves.

Now…

Col 3:23-24
Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men,
knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.

It is our attitude that is addressed.

Whatever you do...regardless of what type of work...do it…

• heartily...the Greek word translated “heartily” is interesting… psychē - “breath of life”, “living, vital force”, “the soul - the seat of the emotions”.
• as for the Lord...rather than for men
• knowing that it is the Lord that you are serving
• knowing that the Lord will grant the reward of the inheritance

This totally changes the way we look at work.
Rejoice in where the Lord has us.
Work heartily.
Know that hearty work reflects the Lord and is a testimony unto Him.
Remember that we will be rewarded.
Remember that in so doing, we serve the Lord.

Work.
Be not a Sloth.
