"One Commandment"

“One Commandment”

Blessings folk!

The Lord created a garden for man.
He then placed man in the garden to cultivate and keep it.

Gen 2:15
Then the LORD God took the man and put him into the garden of Eden to cultivate it and keep it.

The Lord then gave a commandment to man.

Gen 2:16
The LORD God commanded the man, saying, “From any tree of the garden you may eat freely;

but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die.”

Man, Adam, was free.
He was free to eat from any tree in the garden…save one.

He could not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

Why did God even place the tree of knowledge and good and evil there?
To tempt man?
To trip man up?

No.

God desires relationship.

One does not have relationship if one part of the relationship is “pulling all the strings”…like a marionette puppet.

God gave man the ability to decide.
The ability to choose.

To choose to walk in obedience with the Lord.
To choose to walk in rebellion.

There was one simple rule.
“Do not eat of the one tree”.

Easy, no?

One more thing.
What is “knowledge of good and evil”?
…to be continued…
