Blessings folk!
We have seen that God will repay with affliction those who afflict Believers.
We have seen that God will give relief to the afflicted.
We have see that God will deal retribution to:
- those who do not know God
- those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus
Now read the next verse…
2 Th 1:9
These people will pay the penalty of eternal destruction,
away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power,
Those who do not know God…
Those who do not obey the gospel…
They will pay the penalty…the penalty of eternal destruction.
Eternal destruction away from the presence of the Lord.
Eternal destruction away from the glory of His power.
Think on this.
“Eternal destruction” - destruction that never ends, destruction that is ongoing!
This is the penalty of rejecting the Lord.
Such people will undergo:
- eternal, never-ending destruction. Not annihilation. Constant. Without end.
- separated from the Presence of the Lord.
- removed from the the glory of His power.
This truth should motivate us to speak the truth of the gospel.
