“Wages”
Blessings folk!
True believers have been freed from sin.
We no longer are enslaved to the flesh.
Yes.
We can choose to “put on” the flesh.
We can chose to walk in the ways of the past.
But, we are not driven by irresistible desire.
We do so because we want to.
Sin is like that.
We sin simply because we want to.
Not because we “have to”.
Rom 6:22
But now having been freed from sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit, resulting in sanctification, and the outcome, eternal life.
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
We are enslaved to God.
A wondrous benefit which results in sanctification…growing in holiness.
The outcome of sanctification?
Eternal life!
Then a word of transition…”for”…
It is tied to all previously discussed.
Because of all this we know…
the wages of sin is death
the free gift of God is eternal life
eternal life is in Christ Jesus
Christ Jesus our Lord.
Every word is important.
Every thought necessary for proper understanding of what the Lord has done for us.
Live not in the wages of sin.
Live in the life that is the Lord.
