“The Spirit of Truth”
Blessings folk!
When we as unbelievers repent/confess/baptized the Lord saves us.
He sends the Holy Spirit to dwell within us.
We are transformed...new creatures...True Believers.
Read some of what Jesus says of the Spirit…
John 14:16-17
16 I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever;
17 that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.
Helper.
Comforter.
With us forever...that is interesting.
Truth.
Abides with us.
Be in us.
John 15:26-27
26 “When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, that is the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify about Me,
27 and you will testify also, because you have been with Me from the beginning.
To come.
Sent by Jesus from Father.
Testifies of Jesus.
Leads us in testifying of Jesus.
John 16:12-14
12 “I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.
13 But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.
14 He will glorify Me, for He will take of Mine and will disclose it to you.
Guides into all Truth.
Will not speak of own initiative.
Will speak what He hears...from who? Father/Son.
Will disclose what is to come.
Will glorify Jesus.
Will take of Jesus and disclose to us.
This is the Spirit Who dwells within us as Believers.
This is the Lord.
We are to pursue Him.
We are to abide in Him.
We are to be empowered by Him.
We are not to pursue the gifts/blessings of the Spirit, but rather the Lord - Father/Son/Spirit.
Then, we will be doing the will of God.
