“The Cave of Adullam”

Blessings folk!

David flees from Achish, King of Gath.

He flees to a hole in the ground.
Literally.
He goes to the cave of Adullam.

Read these two verses carefully.
Give heed to what occurred, the timing, etc.

1Sa 22:1-2
So David departed from there and escaped to the cave of Adullam;
and when his brothers and all his father’s household heard of it, they went down there to him.

Everyone who was in distress,
and everyone who was in debt,
and everyone who was discontented gathered to him;
and he became captain over them.
Now there were about four hundred men with him.

David was in hiding.
When his brothers and family heard, they joined him.
His brothers and father’s household knew that he had been anointed king.

But, there were more.
All total, there were four hundred men that gathered/joined with him.

You saw how they were described.
They were in distress.
They were in debt.
They were discontent.

This describes many today.
This describes many true Believers!

Many are discontented…distressed…in debt.

Run to the Savior.
In our time “in the cave” He is the Light to Whom we run.

The Lord is bringing many to their “cave of Adullam”.
The Lord is drawing many out of their “cave of Adullam”.

“Adullam” means “justice of the people”!
Hummmm….
