“Visitation from God”

Blessings folk!

Today’s reading:

Luke 19:41-44

Jesus was a man of emotion.
Expressive emotion.

We see Him rejoicing, dancing, grieving, angry, etc.
Here we see Him crying.
Again.
We saw how He cried over the people in the situation with Lazarus - even though He knew what He was about to do.

LIkewise here.

Jesus cries over Jerusalem.

Why?

Because they did not recognize the time of their visitation from God.

How many times have we not recognized the same?

Jesus declares some things.

  • if only they had known what made for peace. Remember, they had been declaring the desire for peace. They saw it in an earthly King. They had hope that Jesus was the King.
  • since they did not recognize (acknowledge, receive) the time of their visitation, these things are hidden from their eyes
  • the days would come when their enemy would destroy Jerusalem...build up embankments, surround on every side, demolish...the walls and those within…leave no stone unturned.

Have you experienced a visitation from the Lord?

Seek Him.
He shall be found.
