“The People Wept Bitterly”

Blessings folk!

Ezra stated that they as a people were standing guilty before the Lord.

What happened next?

It is good to acknowledge guilt, but is there more?

Let us consider this in “bite-size” thoughts.

Ezra had been praying, as we will now read, emotionally.

Note the response of the people…

Ezr 10:1

Now while Ezra was praying and making confession,
weeping and prostrating himself before the house of God,
a very large assembly, men, women and children, gathered to him from Israel;
for the people wept bitterly.

Ezra was praying.
Ezra was making confession.
Ezra was weeping before the Lord.
Ezra was prostrating himself before the house of God.

This was not a show…as so often occurs today.
This was not done to “motivate” (manipulate!) the people.
This was a heart crying out to God.

What did the people do?

They gathered to him.
A large assembly.
Men.
Women.
Children.
And they wept bitterly.

Remember, some of the leadership knew the wrong that was occurring.
They told Ezra about it.
One man, Ezra, led the way to the Lord in repentance.

Where are those individuals today?

Do not look to most “leadership positions”.

Look to the true Body of Christ.

Begin with yourself.

Does the Lord desire to use you in such a breakthrough?
