“Beseech the Lord”

Blessings folk!

The Lord felt compassion for the people.

He taught them.
He healed them.
He proclaimed the good news of the Kingdom to them.

Still, he overflowed with compassion because they were distressed and dispirited.

Mat 9:35-36
Jesus was going through all the cities and villages,
teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom,
and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness.

Seeing the people, He felt compassion for them,
because they were distressed and dispirited like sheep without a shepherd.

Jesus then told his disciples this…

Mat 9:37-38
Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.

“Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.”

Jesus told them the truth.
The harvest is plentiful.
Many are those who are distressed and dispirited.
Many are those who are desiring to hear of the Kingdom.

Yet, the workers are few.
Few are those who seek the true harvest.
Oh, there are some who seek the harvest of the tares, but few that seek the harvest of the Kingdom.

Jesus told them to beseech the Lord, to call upon the Lord, to petition, to request the Lord to send more workers.

Yes Lord!
We so beseech!
Now, go!
