Luk 2:6
While they were there, the days were completed for her to give birth.
And she gave birth to her firstborn son; and she wrapped Him in cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

There was no inn in which to stay.
Bethlehem was overwhelmed with the folk returning to be counted.
Mary and Joseph stayed in a facility for animals…a cave? a barn? a shelter?
It was something somewhat permanent…the animals were accustomed to feeding there.

It was adequate.
it was humble.
It paints a picture for us.

Messiah came in humility unto mankind.

We as believers are called to walk in humility.

1Pe 5:5
You younger men, likewise, be subject to your elders; and all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, for GOD IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE.
