“House of Prayer”

“House of Prayer”

Blessings folk!

Jesus returned to Jerusalem.
He saw the perversion happening in the Temple.
He overturned the tables and chairs.
He drove the perpetrators out.

Oh how the organizational church needs the same today!

We continue with the account…

Mar 11:15-17

Then they came to Jerusalem. And He entered the temple and began to drive out those who were buying and selling in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who were selling doves;

and He would not permit anyone to carry merchandise through the temple.

And He began to teach and say to them, “Is it not written, ‘MY HOUSE SHALL BE CALLED A HOUSE OF PRAYER FOR ALL THE NATIONS’? But you have made it a ROBBERS’ DEN.”

Even in this emotionally tense time, Jesus taught.

He used the Scripture..”is is not written…”

We should do likewise.

The Lord’s house, the temple, was to be a house of prayer for all nations.
They had perverted it into a den of robbers.

The same occurs today with the “house of the Lord”.
Not a building.
Not an organizational religious entity.

The house of the Lord today is the true Believer.
The Lord dwells within us.
We literally “house the Lord”.

Are we therefore not to be a “house of prayer”, a vessel of His presence?

May we be so.

How did the religious rulers react to this?
We will see…
