You do not hear this taught too often.
Rarely do you hear it preached.
Especially the ramifications.

There is cost involved in being a disciple of the Lord Jesus.
We are told to count the cost.

What are we to consider?
What are we to do?

It is simple.

We are to love the Lord.
Love with abandon.
Love above all other loves.

Our love for the Lord should be so great that the love we have for father/mother/children/brothers/sisters will pale in comparison. The other loves will look like “hate” compared to the love we have for the Lord.

This love will have deeds.

We will “hate” all other things.
We will carry our own cross.
We will follow the Lord.
We will renounce all of our own possessions.

All the actions point back to the love we have for the Lord.

Do you love the Lord?
How?
With all your heart, mind, soul and strength?
Are you entangled in the cares and concerns of the world?
Are you anxious over stuff?

Be not.

Lastly, do not confuse religious activity for love of the Lord...
