“In the Midst of the Assembly”
Blessings folk!
The King and the people had prayed.
Remember, an enemy had gathered before them.
They now stood.
Waiting.
Waiting for?
The Lord to respond.
Wonder what they were expecting the Lord to do?
Fire from heaven?
The Lord had done that before.
Ground opening up and swallowing the enemy?
The Lord had done that before.
Hailstones from the heavens defeating the enemy?
God had/would do that.
We are not told what the expected.
We are told that they all waited.
Then, we are told what happened!
2 Ch 20:14
Then in the midst of the assembly the Spirit of the LORD came upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah,
the Levite of the sons of Asaph;
The Spirit of the Lord came upon someone - Jahaziel.
Jahaziel - who was a Levite of the sons of Asaph.
Jahaziel - who was standing “in the midst of the assembly” - not on the stage.
Jahaziel - who was waiting with all the rest.
Jahaziel - very defined in lineage…father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather.
The Spirit of the Lord came upon him…and what?
2 Ch 20:15
and he said…
The Lord gave him the Word for the moment.
A man waiting in the midst of the assembly.
Are you willing to be such a vessel today?
Are you willing to receive the Word of the Lord?
Are you willing to speak the Word of the Lord as He gives?
