2Ti 4:3-4
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires,

and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths.

We live in this time.

Even those who profess to be of the faith…some really are saved, most who are not… will not endure sound doctrine.
They will “vote with their feet”…walking away from sound doctrine.
They want to have their ears tickled…they want to be “excited”, “stimulated”, etc.
Therefore, they will accumulate for themselves…notice, they do it for themselves…teachers that will align with their own desires.

Notice verse 3 begins with “for”…here is why…learn what we are to do…

2Ti 4:1-2

I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus,
who is to judge the living and the dead, and by His appearing and His kingdom:

preach the word; be ready in season and out of season;
reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction.

Jesus taught with power and authority from the Most High.
Such amazed the people because of the Truth, because of the Spirit moving within and upon them.

We should do likewise.
Preach the Word.
Be ready in season and out of season.
Reprove.
Rebuke.
Exhort.
Manifest great patience…this means that folk will not always respond the way we want instantly!
Be patient in instructing.
