"Sound Doctrine"

“Sound Doctrine”

Blessings folk!

We have seen the charge of the Lord.
We have seen what we are to do.

2 Timothy 4:1-2
1 I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by His appearing and His kingdom:
2 preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction.

Why are we to…

  • preach the Word
  • be ready in season and out of season
  • reprove
  • rebuke
  • exhort
?

The next verse tells us.
We live in these days.

2 Timothy 4:3
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires,

“For” connects this verse to the previous.
The time will come.
The time has come.
Sound doctrine is rarely desired.
Sound doctrine is ridiculed, rejected, rebuffed.
Sound doctrine is nonexistent in a large part of the organizational church.
Sound doctrine is not pursued.
Sound doctrine is assumed by many based upon the faith of others. Such is error.

Are you grounded in sound doctrine?
Do you know the Truth of the Lord?
Are you pursing the Truth of the Lord?
How? By the way of man or the way of the Lord?
