"Comfort"

“Comfort”

Blessings Folk!

In what do you find “comfort”?

Chocolate?
Silence?
“Entertainment”?
“Amusement”?
Food?
Beverage?
Resources?
Toys?

On and on we could go…

The Word tells us to comfort one another.
How?

You may not believe this… Happy

1 Thessalonians 4

13 But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve as do the rest who have no hope.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus.
15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep.
16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.
17 Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord.
18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.

Comfort one another with these words.

The context is those who are “asleep” - believers who have died.
The context speaks to those who are true believers.

Such believers have hope.
The world has not hope.
Jesus is the Only Hope.

Comfort comes from understanding the return of the Lord.

The Lord will return.
Those who are dead in Christ will rise first.
Then, those still alive will meet “them” in the air.

We await.
We are comforted in all that the Lord reveals about His return - and there is much information.

There is more…

2 Corinthians 1

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,
4 who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
5 For just as the sufferings of Christ are ours in abundance, so also our comfort is abundant through Christ.
6 But if we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation; or if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which is effective in the patient enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer;
7 and our hope for you is firmly grounded, knowing that as you are sharers of our sufferings, so also you are sharers of our comfort.

True comfort is from the Lord - the God of Comfort.
He comforts us that we may comfort others.
Comfort is abundant through Christ.

Acts 9

31 So the church throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria enjoyed peace, being built up; and going on in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, it continued to increase.

Note the church experienced peace and were being built up when they feared the Lord and lived in the comfort of the Holy Spirit.

Today, most of the “church” fears the Holy Spirit - in an incorrect manner - and is far too “comfortable” with the Lord.

Finally…

2 Thessalonians 2

16 Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us eternal comfort and good hope by grace,
17 comfort and strengthen your hearts in every good work and word.

By the grace of God our Father and the Lord Himself we have eternal comfort and hope.

Comfort yourself in this.
Trust in the Lord and His comfort.
Not in the things of the world.
Not even in the blessings of the Lord.
The Lord alone.
Live in expectation of His return...not “imminentcy” which is an unscriptural teaching of the day…

Comfort one another with this hope.

Blessings!

"Watch and Be Alert"

February 21, 2012

“Watch and Be Alert”

Blessings Folk!

Are you watching?
Are you on the alert?

The Lord commands us to do such.

We are to watch and be on the alert personally.

Note what Jesus says to his disciples when they inquired…

Matthew 24

3 As He was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things happen, and what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”
4 And Jesus answered and said to them, “
See to it that no one misleads you.
5
For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will mislead many
6
You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end.
7
For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes.
8
But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs.

See to it that no on misleads you.

You have a role.
You have responsibility.

How do we keep from being mislead/deceived. By the Word Himself…
The Word given in written form…
The Word given via the Holy Spirit…
The Word manifest as the Body of Christ…

By knowing The Word in this way we will not mislead.

In what form will deception occur?

“I am the Christ”
False “christ” is the primary understanding.

There is also the understanding that there will be those who will acknowledge with words that Jesus is the Christ, yet they will mislead many.

See to it that you be not frightened.

We have a role and responsibility to be not afraid...even when there are wars and rumors of wars.

By abiding in The Word...written, Spirit, Body, etc…. we can live without fear.

We are also to watch and be on the alert as to events that are occurring…

Matthew 24

15 “Therefore when you see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand),
16 then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains.

Jesus tells us that when we see that which Daniel had described, then those in Judea need to flee to the mountains.

We must watch and discern the times.

Matthew 24

42 “Therefore be on the alert, for you do not know which day your Lord is coming.
43 But be sure of this, that if the head of the house had known at what time of the night the thief was coming, he would have been on the alert and would not have allowed his house to be broken into.

Matthew 25

13 Be on the alert then, for you do not know the day nor the hour.

We are to be alert.
We are to pay attention.
We will not be caught by surprise…

1 Thessalonians 5

4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day would overtake you like a thief;
5 for you are all sons of light and sons of day. We are not of night nor of darkness;
6 so then let us not sleep as others do, but let us be alert and sober.

Be alert.
Be sober.
Be ready.

Blessings!

"Pray in Faith"

February 17, 2012

“Pray in Faith…”

Blessings Folk!

Many of you are friends on varied “social networks” and know that I’ve ask you to be praying for a young boy, Eli.

(Go to http://www.dalemoore.tv to join me on Facebook, Google+, several Twitter accounts, download my personal app...yes, I have an app, etc.)

Eli is the 5 year old son of a friend.

He just received a diagnosis of cancer in his jaw.
The response of the medical team was rapid and aggressive - a worrisome development in itself.

I ask that y’all pray for him.

Pray as the Lord leads.

Some will have the faith to ask the Lord to intervene.
Some will have the faith to command the cancer to leave.
Some will have the faith to intercede for the family.

All, and more, are needed and are evidence of the truth that we need to Body to function as the Lord designs.

Therefore, Lord, increase our faith through your Word...

James 5
13 Is anyone among you suffering? Then he must pray. Is anyone cheerful? He is to sing praises.
14 Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord;
15 and t
he prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him.

Mark 9
14 And when he came to his disciples, he saw a great multitude about them, and the scribes questioning with them.
15 And straightway all the people, when they beheld him, were greatly amazed, and running to him saluted him.
16 And he asked the scribes, What question ye with them?
 17 And one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit;
18 And wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him: and he foameth, and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not.
19 He answereth him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me.
20 And they brought him unto him: and when he saw him, straightway the spirit tare him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming.
21 And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child.
22 And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us.
 23 Jesus said unto him,
If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
24 And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears,
Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.
25 When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.
26 And the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; insomuch that many said, He is dead.
27 But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose.
28 And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, Why could not we cast him out?
29 And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.
30 And they departed thence, and passed through Galilee; and he would not that any man should know it.

Pray…

  • in faith
  • in belief

Lord, we believe.
Help our unbelief.
All things are possible to those who believe.
With God, all things are possible.
With God, nothing is impossible.
If we have the faith of a mustard seed, nothing shall be impossible to us.

Matthew 17
19 Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out?
20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you,
If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
21 Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.

Be healed Eli by the blood of Jesus…

Blessings!

"Love"

February 14, 2012

“Love”

Blessings Folk!

It is really simple.

The Lord gave us a new commandment.
Love one another.

John 13
34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
35 By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

This love was granted unto us through the Spirit.
We have a choice.
Love.
Love not.

The best the world has to offer is a sugar-coated substitute of the real thing.

The world moves in “eros”…”love” of the flesh, etc.

The Body of Christ, while experiencing eros within the realm of God’s design, should manifest agapao - the type of love that desires what is best for another - and phileo - familial, “brotherly” love.

Today, as so many “celebrate” (how sad) “love”, may we manifest the true love of the Lord to one another and the world.

The Lord says much about love...read 1 John...it is short.

John warns us…

1 John 4
1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

John then says the following about love…

1 John 4
7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.
8 The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love.
9 By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him.
10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
12 No one has seen God at any time; if we love one another, God abides in us, and His love is perfected in us.
13 By this we know that we abide in Him and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit.
14 We have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son to be the Savior of the world.
15 Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.
16 We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.
17 By this, love is perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; because as He is, so also are we in this world.
18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love.
19 We love, because He first loved us.
20 If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for the one who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen. 21 And this commandment we have from Him, that the one who loves God should love his brother also.

Clear.
Concise.
Inarguable.

Therefore, let us love one another as the Lord has loved us.

Blessings!

"Granted - Part 2"

February 13, 2012

“Granted - Part 2”

Blessings Folk!

Be certain to read Part 1

Grace has been granted us.
Purpose has been granted us.
Everything pertaining to life and godliness has been granted to us.
His precious and magnificent promises have been granted to us.
We have been granted to be partakers in the Divine Nature.
We have been granted the ability to believe in Him.
We are also sometimes granted suffering.

We see throughout the history of God’s creation that He has granted.

God granted an inheritance to Abraham…

Galatians 3
18 For if the inheritance is based on law, it is no longer based on a promise; but God has granted it to Abraham by means of a promise.

God granted men to Paul…

Acts 27
23 For this very night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve stood before me,
24 saying, ‘Do not be afraid, Paul; you must stand before Caesar; and behold, God has granted you all those who are sailing with you.’
25 Therefore, keep up your courage, men, for I believe God that it will turn out exactly as I have been told.

Their ship was in danger.
The sea was rough.
But, the Lord had a purpose for Paul and sent an angel to confirm…

  • fear not
  • you must stand before Caesar

God granted to the Gentiles also the repentance that leads to life.

Acts 11

17 Therefore if God gave to them the same gift as He gave to us also after believing in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could stand in God’s way?”
18 When they heard this, they quieted down and glorified God, saying, “Well then, God has granted to the Gentiles also the repentance that leads to life.”

(We would do well to read the extended passages of the Word...amazing things here&hellipWinking

God granted that Jesus be visible after His resurrection…
Note to who He appeared…

Acts 10
39 We are witnesses of all the things He did both in the land of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They also put Him to death by hanging Him on a cross.
40 God raised Him up on the third day and granted that He become visible,
41 not to all the people, but to witnesses who were chosen beforehand by God, that is, to us who ate and drank with Him after He arose from the dead.

God grants favor with the powers that be…

Acts 7
9 “The patriarchs became jealous of Joseph and sold him into Egypt. Yet God was with him,
10 and rescued him from all his afflictions, and granted him favor and wisdom in the sight of Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and he made him governor over Egypt and all his household.

Salvation/Faith/Belief are only possible because they have been granted by Father…

John 6
64 But there are some of you who do not believe.” For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who it was that would betray Him.
65 And He was saying, “For this reason I have said to you, that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted him from the Father.”

Mark 11
22 And Jesus *answered saying to them, “Have faith in God.
23 Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted him.
24 Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you.
25 Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father who is in heaven will also forgive you your transgressions.
26 [But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father who is in heaven forgive your transgressions.”]

“The Twelve” were giving to eat and drink at the Lord’s table in His kingdom and to sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel…

Luke 22
28 “You are those who have stood by Me in My trials;
29 and just as My Father has granted Me a kingdom, I grant you
30 that you may eat and drink at My table in My kingdom, and you will sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

We have been granted to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of God…

Luke 8
10 And He said, “ To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to the rest it is in parables, so that SEEING THEY MAY NOT SEE, AND HEARING THEY MAY NOT UNDERSTAND.

Matthew 13
11 Jesus answered them, “ To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been granted.

Therefore…

Believe.
Have Faith.
Pray in the will of the Father.
Rejoice and live in in all that Father has granted through the Lord Jesus.

We have all we need.

Blessings!

"Granted - Part 1"

February 10, 2012

“Granted - Part 1”

Blessings Folk!

If you are a True Believer unto salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ, then some amazing things have occurred in you.

These things have been granted by God.

Again, they have been granted…
  • given
  • bestowed as a gift
  • supplied
  • furnished

Grace has been granted us.
Purpose has been granted us.

2 Timothy 1
8 Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord or of me His prisoner, but join with me in suffering for the gospel according to the power of God,
9 who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own
purpose and grace which was granted us in Christ Jesus from all eternity,
10 but now has been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel,
11 for which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle and a teacher.

Note the timing.
“From all eternity…”
Literally from the foundations of creation...before the Lord spoke anything into existence...He has granted...

Everything pertaining to life and godliness has been granted to us.
His precious and magnificent promises have been granted to us.
We have been granted to be partakers in the Divine Nature.

2 Peter 1
2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord; 3 seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.
4 For by these
He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, so that by them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust.

Note how this occurs.
Through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.

We have been granted the ability to believe in Him.
We are also sometimes granted suffering.

Philippians 1
29 For to you it has been granted for Christ’s sake, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake,
30 experiencing the same conflict which you saw in me, and now hear to be in me.

More “granted” to be examined...

Meditate on these Truths.
Rejoice in Who and Whose you are.
Live like it.

Blessings!
