“New Self”

Blessings folk!

We are instructed to “put aside”…

• anger
• wrath
• malice
• slander
• abusive speech
• lying to one another

We do so because we have laid aside the old self with its evil practices.

These are actions in the “negative sense”...put aside, lay aside negative things.

Now, in the “positive sense”…

Col 3:10-11
and have put on the new self who is being renewed to a true knowledge according to the image of the One who created him—
a renewal in which there is no distinction between Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave and freeman, but Christ is all, and in all.

Put on the “new self”.
True Believers are new creations.
We are being renewed.
Renewed to a true knowledge according to the image of the One who created us...God...Father/Son/Spirit

We are not renewed according to the pattern of this rebellious world.
Again, we are renewed according to His image.

There is no distinction in this renewal.
All who believe...repent, confess...are renewed
Whether…
Greek
Jew
Circumcised
Barbarian
Scythian
Yankee
Slave
Freeman
Southerner
Auburn fan…just seeing if you are paying attention...
I best stop.

The Lord has no distinction with those that He has called, chosen, elected.

Rejoice in His renewing of you (even the Auburn fans).

Put on the new self that He has designed in/for you.
Be His Presence everywhere, every moment, every day.
Renewed.
Rejoicing.
