“He Felt Compassion”

Blessings folk!

Recently in preparing some daily “
The Word” podcasts (found here https://www.dalemoore.tv) my attention was arrested by a word/phrase.

This happens often.
A word.
Often a familiar word, seems to leap off the page and scream “consider me!” Happy
Sometimes it is a phrase.
Anyway, I try to give attention when this happens.

It happened most recently on the word “compassion”, especially in the context of Jesus.

Let us look at what the Word says.

Mat 9:35-36

Jesus was going through all the cities and villages,
teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom,
and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness.

Seeing the people, He felt compassion for them,
because they were distressed and dispirited like sheep without a shepherd.

What was Jesus doing?

Going to the people.
From city to village.

Teaching in their synagogues…”their” synagogues…where they were.

Proclaiming the good news of the Kingdom.

Healing every disease.
Healing every sickness,.

Seeing the people, He felt compassion for them.
Compassion.
A deep moving from within.

Why?
Because they were distressed.
Because they were dispirited.
Because they were “like” sheep without shepherd.

Thus are people today.

Those of the world are distressed and dispirited.
Those professing to be believers are distressed and dispirited.

True Believers are Spirited.
True Believers are Peace-filled.
True Believers trust in the Lord.

What did the Lord do?
We will see that tomorrow.

For today, which are you?
Distressed/dispirited?
Spirited/Peace-filled?

Believers go!
Believers teach!
Believers proclaim!
Believers heal!
Believers watch!
Perhaps the compassion of the Lord will be released within/upon you…
