Back to the Balaam account…long, no? LOL
Balaam went home.
Story over, correct?
Not quite.
Balaam had given counsel to Balak.
Balaam told Balak how to defeat Israel.
They could not defeat Israel on the battle field.
The Lord had blessed them.
The Lord protected them.
Israel could be defeated through corruption.
They would choose the way of the flesh rather than the way of the Lord.
How do I know?
The Lord tells us…

to trespass against the LORD in the matter of Peor,
so the plague was among the congregation of the LORD.
What is the matter of Peor?
Who are “these”?
We will see tomorrow.
For today, stand firm in the Lord.
