“Hidden Reefs”

Blessings folk!

Remember that we were looking at the warning in Jude.

Jude had desired to write to the recipients about their common salvation.
But, he felt compelled to urge them to contend earnestly for the faith.

Jude then warned about certain men that have crept in unnoticed.

The description is amazing.
Looks just like what we see today.

Jude give several example from the Word, some of which we have looked closely at.

Now, the description continues.

Read these two verses…

Jude 12-13
12 These are hidden reefs at your love feasts, as they feast with you without fear, shepherds feeding themselves; waterless clouds, swept along by winds; fruitless trees in late autumn, twice dead, uprooted;
13 wild waves of the sea, casting up the foam of their own shame; wandering stars, for whom the gloom of utter darkness has been reserved forever.

Look at the first point.

These men are hidden reefs at your love feast.
They look like they were true Believers.
They “fellowship” with the true Body.
They do so without fear.
Without fear of confrontation with the Truth.
Without fear of discovery of who they really are.
Without fear of the Lord.
The Love Feasts is the gathering celebration the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord.
They are hidden reef.
A reef is of extreme danger to a boat.
A hidden reef even more so.

They are a danger just below the surface.
They feast with the Body, feeding themselves.

It is all about “them”.

Beware.
They are everywhere.
