David finishes his prayer…
“For You, O LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, have made a revelation to Your servant, saying, ‘I will build you a house’; therefore Your servant has found courage to pray this prayer to You.
“Now, O Lord GOD, You are God, and Your words are truth,
and You have promised this good thing to Your servant.
“Now therefore, may it please You to bless the house of Your servant, that it may continue forever before You. For You, O Lord GOD, have spoken; and with Your blessing may the house of Your servant be blessed forever.”
The Lord had told David that He would build his house…meaning his progeny.
David found courage to pray to the Lord due to this.
David prayed boldly affirmed what the Lord had told him.
Look at what David declared about the Lord God…
- He is Lord
- He is God
- His word are truth
- He promised good things to David, his servant
Because of all this David states “therefore”…
- May it please the Lord to bless the house of David
- May David’s house continue forever
- May David’s house be blessed forever
David boldly and courageously requested of the Lord based upon the Word of the Lord.
May we do likewise…
